EXTENDED FRAME

Technique: film/digital graphics/objects

Extented frame is an open and mulifacted project created in cooperation with youth from the Swietochlowice lower secondary school nr 3 at the school complex in Lipina. A few months of participatory work was intended to present the district through the artistic work of the participants of the „Oskar: movie activity club. The project is based on interpersonal relationships, social problem, engaging creators and recipiens. It demonstrates that creative thinking through art expands the horizons, becomes a tool and creates new perspectives.

In our first resolution, we have adopted the goal of redesigning a place’s image by using digital graphics in virtual reality.

When working on the project the Lipina-Philippines word game was created, which in time grew to become the key to the whole design.

GIFT

A chest – a packaging, a unit of measurement – promises a gift, augurs wealth.
A chest is a piece of furniture that has accompanied man from the earliest times.
The chest contained what the wife was bringing to her husband’s house.
The chest is also a symbol of femininity (like a vessel that is broken before the ceremony
wedding). In the old days, the virgin used to spend the evening on
the ritual of unraveling the braids, where other brides also wove
flower crowns, accompanied by mournful songs. The wedding flower crown is the last one,
that adorns the virgin’s forehead. On the other hand, the chest resembles a coffin
its resemblance about death.

My project, which consists of a movie and a separate soundtrack, is also a vessel-
the interpretation of the work depends on the context the recipient’s place and life situation.
For me, a dowry is an oppressive gift.
